Virtual Museum Field Trip

Looking for some home-schooling inspiration? Why not take a trip to the museum! Although their doors are closed, there are a ton of great resources online that still allow you to explore the museum floors. Gather the kids around the computer, and get ready to explore!

Do you have a house full of dino lovers? Head to the National Museum of Natural History!  You can “walk” through current and past exhibits to learn all about the dinosaurs that once roamed the planet. Make it a game, and see who can identify the most dinosaurs!

The Boston Children’s Museum has a great virtual tour that lets you “walk” through the museum. Make sure you check out the Explore-a-saurus and Japanese House! They also have a ton of learning resources online that you can use to enhance the visit.

Do you have a budding artist in the house? Head over to The New Children’s Museum in San Diego. They’re resources page allows you to explore current and past exhibits. Have your little artist create something inspired by an exhibit!
